Easter comes early this year! Are you ready to fill baskets, wear bunny ears and dye, hunt and eat eggs? This will be my son's third celebration of Easter and I am excited for him to hunt for these plastic eggs decorated with washi tape and shapes. Not only are they colorful and fun but they are also filled with legos! With washi tape, stickers and a silver sharpie you can create plastic eggs that are ...wait for it....eggstra-ordinary!
Supplies
Washi Stickers (These are the round stickers I used. At the top part of the sticker square are smaller round stickers)
Silver Sharpie
Legos (optional-but fabulous)
Scissors
The How To
1. Fill plastic egg with a few lego pieces (or whatever else is going inside). I forgot this step about every two to three eggs and I am actually surprised I remembered to write this step out...so don't forget and if you do, just take the washi tape off.
2. Select a washi tape color and wrap the tape around the seam where the top part of the egg meets the bottom. Cut the tape so the ends are overlapping slightly.
3. Select another washi tape color (or same) and wrap the tape around the egg, starting from the bottom. Cut the tape so the ends are overlapping slightly.
-or-
Scatter round washi stickers all over the plastic egg.
4. Using a silver sharpie, decorate the plastic with various shapes (circles, triangles, squares, hexagons) or highlight the round stickers.
It took me about 20 minutes to decorate 16 plastic eggs and it probably would have been less if I hadn't kept forgetting to put the legos in. I love how they turned out! And I know my son will have fun hunting for and opening these eggs.
I hope you all have a fun-filled Easter celebration with your families!
