Do you know someone who is moving into a new house? New apartment? New flat? As I’m sure you can remember, the moving process can get stressful. Worrying about contracts, closing dates and cracks in the foundation can make a person mad. All one wants to do is move into the perfect place where there is nothing to be done.
Yeah right.
There is always something to be done. The floors. The kitchen. The deck. The landscaping. The paint. It’s all part of owning your own place. So when our good friends bought a home on our block, I wanted to welcome them to the neighborhood with a good ol’ housewarming basket full of goodies.
I love making baskets for any occasion (see here and here), but this one was especially fun. There were endless possibilities as to what I could add to the basket, but I wanted something simple, yet tasteful.
To start, you must buy the basket, otherwise some items may not fit correctly. I went to Michael’s and bought a medium-sized basket, doilies, ribbon, etc. I went to Kohl’s and started perusing the home section (I knowwwww… I’m cheating on Home Goods, but Michael’s and Kohl’s are in the same shopping center). I found so many great items and was so excited to give the basket to our new neighbors!
