This DIY project quite literally fell into my lap. It all began with a wild windstorm that passed through this last weekend.
Traffic lights went out and stores ran out of electricity, but the children I teach didn't seem to mind! On the contrary, when we returned to school the kids were overjoyed to see that our playground was covered in fallen branches, leaves and moss.
They built forts, fairy houses, rides and one sweet little boy placed this beautiful piece of moss in my lap: "Ms. Coco, I made this for you. Make it pretty, okay?"
So here I am making this spur-of-the-moment DIY Moss Garden. I had way too much fun with it AND it was extremely easy.
Materials
- 1 large tray
- Moss
- Candles
- Crystals
- Soil
- Rocks
Directions
Cover the tray with rocks.
Pour the soil on top of the rocks. (I chose to not spread it out completely. I love being able to see the rocks!)
Carefully place moss on top of the soil.
Decorate with candles and crystals.
Lightly mist with water and ta-da! It's as easy as that.
Make sure not to water the moss. Misting once a week is all it needs.
