Just before we get into the randomness of my post which will take you from making a wreath to my desk to yes even an outfit let's just take a second to enjoy the Sunday Night sunset. Is this not a glorious site ( and I am not talking about me in my slippers, I am talking that sky). I had to run outside to snap some pictures and it is times like this that I wish I had all the awesome filters and the real keen eye of a true photographer.
( oh yea and an SEO tip for ya, I was spending tons of time thinking up unique interesting titles for my post and I just learned you need your title to be basic and include the key words in your post of what you are writing about, this will generate more hits, so tip: stop being cute and get back to basics)
I realized I had been a bit slack in my craft/diy posts when I noticed my Easter Wreath was still on the mantle ( minus the Easter trinkets but still in all its pastel glory. So today we are going to convert an Easter wreath into a non-seasonal Burlap and Denim Wreath. 2015 seems to be my year of denim and burlap, I converted my candles after buying some denim accessories and I really loved the look, then we won some burlap and birch park accessories so I figured what the heck, lets work with it right?
Step one was taking the wreath off the wall and begin removing the pastel, gold and cream decomesh.
I purchased two rolls of ribbon from Michael's, a burlap with a denim ribbon accent and a solid denim, I figured these added to the existing burlap would be sufficient for my wreath.
After the wreath was unadorned with only the plain burlap, I began adding my new burlap and denim ribbon, followed by the solid denim. The best thing about using a .wreath with greenery is you have instant hooks for attaching your ribbons. There is no best way to attach the ribbon, I eye the ribbon and loops and keep adjusting till I have a pattern I am pleased with.
Varying shades of denim help add depth.
Once the ribbons are attached in a pattern that you like you are done. I find the burlap and denim are enough and the wreath does not need any additional decorations. My mantle wreath now matches the other accents I have added this spring.
Burlap and plaid pillow covers.
Denim and burlap candles
Birch candle
wooden coasters
Burlap wall coverings
A few fun, easy and inexpensive accents can completely change the room
Are you into the denim and burlap kick this spring? have you added any accents?
