We've made DIY pinwheels for a few summers in a row now. They are an easy summer craft to make with children. Big pinwheels, like one Sola is holding above, make cute summer decorations, while smaller pinwheels are fun for kids to run around with. To make a pinwheel, you will need:
- Dowel 3/8" thick, 12"-18" long
- Cardstock 8 1/2" x 11" (or bigger if you want a decorate pinwheel)
- Pushpin, large (with about a 1 cm head)
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Washi Tape (optional)
Directions:
- Cut or tear your paper into a 8 1/2" square (or bigger if you are making decorative pinwheels).
- Decorate your paper with washi tape, markers, or pencils, if desired
- Fold the paper in half, diagonally, in both directions.
