My friend (who is a real estate agent) contacted me and wanted me to create another basket for his clients. They recently bought a home in my hometown and my friend wanted to congratulate them. Since I made two other baskets for him, I opted to go in a different direction this time.

I went to Home Goods (my favorite store!) and started off in the basket section. This is a must. Starting out with the right size basket is key. As I’m walking around the store, looking for inspiration, I can what types of items I can fit in the basket. Win-win for all.

Next, I walked down the food aisle. If you didn’t already know, Home Goods has an aisle or two full of food: crackers, popcorn, pasta, sauce, jelly, jam, honey, spices, coffee, etc. They are not your everyday brand type of food, most of the food you find here you would find at a place like Trader Joes or Whole Foods. Regardless, I saw pasta that was beautifully packaged and figured it would be a great addition to the basket. I found White Truffle Oil(anything truffle must be yummy!), Italian seasoning and a jar of sundried tomatoes. I am no chef, but I am pretty certain someone could make a delicious meal out of those ingredients.

I placed them in the basket and had more than enough room to add a couple of more pieces. I added a kitchen towel, a picture frame and some pretty napkins with anchors on them. (The high school mascot is a sailor, so the napkins were a perfect addition!) When I got home, I went on to PicMonkey and created a beautiful 4×6 welcome sign to add to the picture frame. It was so easy to make and it looked great.

For this basket, I wanted the objects to be useful yet aesthetically appealing. I hope his clients enjoyed this basket as much as I enjoyed making it!
