Harvest Time!

Goodness! I am soooo ready for Fall! I have been looking for festivals around here and in the surrounding area so I can make up a calendar of things to do this fall. I have some making up to do too! I haven’t gone to any kind of festival in years. Every year I say I am going to go to all I can, but then comes the morning of whatever I was planning on going to and I think sleeping sounds better. I am the world’s worst at backing out on things because I’m sleepy.  Almost every week I will make plans to go ride horses in the early morning before it gets too hot, but when my alarm goes off and I say nope.

This year is going to be different. I am so looking forward to baking fall goodies and crafting decorations. Plus, come Christmas time, I found my Christmas tree! It’s at this store called “at home” it’s tall but kind of skinny so it will fit in our little house J anyways, back to fall. I am going to make wreaths for my house and whoever else wants one. I am going to make sweatshirts for Pip and whoever wants one. I am already working on an American flag afghan for my cousin. I just feel so crafty during the holidays! And I bought a serger so now I can make all kinds of goodies a lot faster than I used to.

I decided this year for Christmas I am going to make all of my gifts. And I’m super excited about it…lol I have been looking all over pintrist and different sites for ideas. I’m thinking about slippers, sugar scrubs, lip gloss, afghans, throw pillows…etc. There are so many options that I can make super easy! And I think it will be more personal and mean more since I made it personally for whoever I give them to J Another thing I saw was personalizing notebooks or journals by hand stitching their names into the cover page. It was super cute and I have several journal’rs that would love something like that! I know I would.

One thing that is a little more difficult is crafting for guys. Girls are easy to make goodies for, but guys are a little different. I did find a sugar scrub for guys that I am thinking about making for a couple of the guys on my list. But what about the little ones? I can’t give my 10 year old nephew sugar scrub?? I think he’s probably going to get sewn P.J.’s.

My nieces are going to be easy. The 3 year old is getting sewn stuffed animals, P.J.’s and probably some sewn clothes. The 6 month old is getting sewn stuffed animals. Their mom is getting scrubs and probably some lip gloss. I don’t think she is a journal writer….so that wouldn’t work. Her husband is probably getting manly scrub and a beanie.

I need to start making all these things! Just now I realized I’ve got quite a list of people to make things for. Over 20! Yikes…Yea I definitely need to get to work. I need to go to hobby lobby and price little containers for the lip gloss and the sugar scrub. I am going to top them all with fabric and ribbon or jute with a little “To: From:” note.  Girls will be girly, guys will be manly…lol or as manly as I can make em look!
