Make your own Halloween treat boxes

Halloween is this Saturday! Unfortunately for me, we'll be out of town and I won't be able to hand out candy this year. Knowing the kids in my neighborhood makes things a little easier though. I plan on handing them a candy pillow box before the big day. they're super easy to make and are even more fun to give out.

Using the same idea as this gift box, but with Halloween paper. All you need is some toilet paper tubes (or any other cardboard tube), paper, glue or ModPodge, scissors and ribbon or other embellishments.

Pillow Boxes tubes

First up,  free your rolls from any glued on paper. Fold flat. Now fold the top into a curved shaped. Fold the other side over to make your enclosure.

Repeat on the other side.

Open back up and glue the decorative paper to the roll, folding over and gluing the back as well. Lighter/thinner paper works best for this as stockier paper tends to get too hard to bend properly after it’s been glued.

Trim the excess paper.

One dry you can decorate with stamps or ribbon if desired. Place gift item inside and fold shut. Add a bow to the outside to make a pretty gift.

You can decorate these in a variety of ways and even use them as treat boxes for Halloween. Cute, simple and super versatile.

If you use longer card tubes, you can fit larger items in the pillow boxes as needed.
