I'm SO excited for the holiday season! Thanksgiving is almost here, but I just couldn't wait to put out my Christmas decorations last night - don't judge. Is it just me, or do stores not sell timeless, quality Thanksgiving decor anymore? I want to decorate for Thanksgiving, but I can't seem to find nice things. I've found table runners that I love, but they're never long enough and I can't sew a custom one on my own.
One year I found a gorgeous, white crackle-glazed turkey centerpiece at Williams-Sonoma. It was over $200, and I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much, so I was hoping to catch it on clearance. Unfortunately, I waited too long, hoping for a deeper discount and missed it. Since then, I haven't found anything that I've loved as much. I've searched for that darn turkey for y-e-a-r-s on eBay to no avail. I swear... nothing haunts you like the things you fail to buy.

I've been casually pinning ideas to my Christmas with the Elf on the Shelf board throughout the year, and find that with each season, it becomes more and more difficult to find new ideas. This will more than likely be our last year with the elf, as our son goes into 6th grade next year. Kids don't really believe anymore at that age, do they? It's a little depressing to think about. Anyway, let's stop thinking about it, and get ready to enjoy the best time ever with our beloved elves!
All printables, including this year's 2015 calendar are available on my site. Here's a glimpse of this season's fun!
1. Elf flew in, hanging from a bunch of balloons. He even wrote a few notes for you on them.
2. Goofing off - the elf is found buried in your toy chest (ours will be swimming in a pool of LEGOs).
3. Trash day - bake some muffins for the trash company guys and write them a sweet thank you note for the great job they do.
4. Pranked! The elf thought your eggs could be a bit more festive - he broke in and dyed them red and green.
5. You did such a great job loving on your Elf Pets reindeer last Christmas, that the elf entrusted you with a new recruit for the season.
6. PJ twins - the elf is sporting some PJs and brought some for you too.
7. Gather up all of your unloved toys and outgrown clothes, to donate to children in need. Drop them off at a donation center.
8. Roadtrip - the elf is buckled up in the car, ready to run errands. He even brought his tablet to entertain himself on the road.
9. Deck the halls - your bedroom door has been decorated!
10. Bake dog treats and bring them to the local animal shelter, for the puppies who don't yet have a home (check with your local shelter; I found one 5mins from our house and emailed them to find that they gladly accept homemade treats).
11. Silly String fight! The elf brought some silly string for you and your family to use in a battle.
12. Hanging around - the elf made a tire swing with a mason jar lid and some string.
13. Bible study - elf is studying the Word of God. "Buddy the Elf. What's your favorite color verse?"
14. Gift wrapped - the elf covered your school backpack with wrapping paper!
15. All I want for Christmas is you - Elf has been using your iPod to text his crush. He finally worked up the nerve to ask her on a date (go to iFakeText and create your own conversation). Then, save it as a photo and bring it up on the iPad/iPod as a full-screen pic.
16. The elf is found blowing up a whoopee cushion.
17. Make care packages (toothbrush, wipes, canned food, floss, deodorant) for the homeless and hand them out this week.
18. Pranked! The elf brought you some (fake) lottery tickets. Wha?!! You WON?!
19. Your Elf Pets reindeer pooped (big Hershey Kiss) on the kitchen counter!
20. Hot chocolate party - the elf brought you ingredients for some tasty hot cocoa.
21. Thief! The elf stole all of the candy canes off of the tree!
22. Your Elf Pets reindeer has been munching on your poinsettia plant!
23. The elf brought a Santa beard lollipop and is wearing one himself. Take a pic with him, wearing your matching beards! (I found giant, white Santa beard lollipops at Target for $2).
24. Pay it forward - buy a meal for someone.
25. Make a handwritten card for a dear family member. Color them a nice picture too.
26. The elf drew a picture on your window (use dry erase or window paint markers).
27. You have an assignment - write out a Top 10 list of what you're most thankful.
28. Pack your bags - the elf is stuffing his suitcase with his clothes and is ready to head back home. See you next year!
