With limited crafting talent, I'm always psyched when I find something I can actually accomplish. I came across a great DIY Christmas craft that used Starbucks bottles.
I am an addict. I dutifully approach the Starbucks drive-through almost every day. I'm hooked.
Once in a while, I pick up the Starbucks bottles from the store. They're loaded with sugar, so it doesn't happen often. For this project, I bought 4 bottles and my son helped me empty them.
Here are the other supplied needed to pull this off: Red spray paint, twine, some Christmas picks (I liked the berries!), sticky lettering and your trusty glue gun.
The labels are hard to get off. I had to let them soak for several days, but I was eventually able to peel them off.
Next came the spray painting, which was trickier than I thought! If you look closely, the paint dripped some, but I'm OK with how they came out overall. I used rubber gloves and sprayed away. If I did it again, I might use a stick to hold the bottle while I spayed.
Then I wrapped the twine around the tops. I used about an inch of glue, wrapped the twine, inch of glue, wrapped the twine until the tops were covered.
Place the stickers as evenly as possible. Finally it's time to place the berries in the bottles. I needed something to anchor the bottles a bit. (Shhhh! I used fresh kitty litter!) After putting a couple inches of litter in each bottle, place your Christmas picks and you're DONE.
Easy. Simple. Pretty.
That's a DIY Christmas craft I can handle!
