Maia Makeover Monday

Happy Monday! I did a couple projects this weekend that made me think of my dear friend Maia. She is probably the only one I know (besides my mom :)!) who can match me in crafty skill and ambition! I have really enjoyed getting to know her the past couple years we have been at our church, and I love watching her adorable girls grow bigger every day. Maia is a great friend, and a wonderful mama, so here are some flowers inspired by her!

Last time I was at Michaels, I couldn't resist the clearance stems, you get a whole bunch of flowers for only id="mce_marker" (a trick I learned from Maia)! I pulled the centers out, and replaced them with black buttons I bought from our closest antique store a while back. You can get a stuffed snack bag of assorted buttons for $3 at one of the stalls.

This was a combination of clearance finds! I picked up a pack of two of these "leather" flowers knowing they would go excellent with some stretchy lace Maia just shared with me, and then when I saw the package of leaves, they threw me into fall! The package came with copper, gold, and silver leaves. I put copper and gold on this one because they remind me so much of crisp fall days and picking up giant honeycrisps at our local farm. I'm saving the silver ones for a winter inspired fascinator!

I hope you got some fun projects tackled this weekend as well!
