Bunting DIY

So, I'm a little obsessed with bunting and banners and do it yourself sorta things.  I have a special place in my heart for those adorable flags strung up on a string.  I've been seeing them everywhere, and I thought that it was about time I caved and bought myself one, but, ya know, I love crafty things so I thought I'd give it a go myself first.

I chose to use the word Lucky because I had seen a similar banner at a friend's wedding and I thought it was super cute and fitting.  I'm thinking of hanging mine somewhere over our mantle buuuut, we shall see.

And let me tell you, I'm about to present you with the easiest DIY you've ever seen. Also, maybe the cheapest.

See more details after the jump.

DIY Bunting Banner

Supplies: Scissors, black card stock, string, glue stick, printed out letters (I chose a san serif font for a clean look)

Take your card stock and fold the top 1 inch down on each.

There's more than one way to do this but I just traced my letters onto white paper and then cut them out.  I got a little lazy with my symmetrical letters and just cut out the black one and turned it over.

DIY Paper Crafts

Glue your letters to your card stock

Measure and cut your string (mine was about 3 feet)

Place them where you want them along the string.  I'm pretty technical so I went with the two finger between each letter rule.

Glue the backs closed!

And proceed to move it around your house before you ultimately decide where it should go.  I'm still working on it.

So there you go!  An easily customizable bunting banner.  What will yours say?
