Fabulous First Day of Fall Crafts

Fall officially starts one week from today, are you ready?  Time to tweak the mantle, hang a new wreath, change out the seasonal tablecloths and set up some fun fall crafts for the kids.  Nothing says fall quite like a tree with leaves changing color.  Check out these 3 DIY tutorials to get you into the spirit.

Over at I Heart Naptime blogger Jaimelyn is always coming up with the cutest projects.  Her blog has a little bit of everything: cooking, home decor, link parties, product reviews and of course my favorite - crafts.  I adore the dollar store tree she whipped up to usher in fall.  Here in Texas it is still 100 degrees and not a single leaf has changed colors.  We kinda have to fake fall for a few months yet and this project is perfect.

Once upon a time I got the bright idea to paint a giant tree on my sliding glass doors.  The kids thought it was awesome.  I did too until I had to spend hours with a razor removing the tree, but I digress.  Anyway, the fun the kids had making this fall tree was worth the hassle.  You could always make a giant paper tree.  The leaves are like stained glass made by ironing fall colored crayon shaving between sheets of freezer paper.  Pop over to my blog Naughty Secretary Club for the full scoop.

I'm kinda obsessed with how cute this fall tree is.  Valerie from Inner Child Fun got her kids crafting making this adorable paper bag and coffee filter tree.  This post has all kinds of ideas running through my head.  Could I use lawn bags and make really big trees?  Could I paint my trees black to make them spooky Halloween decorations.  So many options I can't wait to try them all.

How will you be celebrating the first day of fall?
