St. Pat's Day Hair Clip

Here’s a cute DIY hair clip to make just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. I made these for my girls a couple of years ago. They are really easy. I made them before school one morning so they are quick also.

What you will need:

  • Green felt (I used orange felt just for the tutorial.)
  • Button
  • Needle and thread
  • Alligator clip
  • Hot glue

What to do:

1. Fold felt in half and cut out a double heart that stays connected at the tip. Do this twice. These make the clover’s leaves. Mine are about 3-inches long.hair-clip-003hair-clip-004hair-clip-005

2. Cut out a strip of felt just as wide and twice as long as the clip. hair-clip-011

3. Starting on the inside, hot glue felt onto the top of clip coming around and over the outside of it.hair-clip-012

4. Sew together “leaves” in the middle. Adding the button before knotting. hair-clip-010

5. Hot glue the clover to the clip and let set before wearing.  hair-clip-013
