It's Spring Break
Daylight Savings
Aahhh daylight savings. We love it around here. I remember when we first moved to Chicago it took me several years to adjust to nightfall at 4:30 pm. Now it's 6:00 pm and it's still daytime - however still freezing cold up here. But one thing at a time.
We are in spring break mode - Finally! We will hang around here for a few days then load up the Jeep and hit the road for some time in the country.
AJLA School History Fair
As I mentioned this week Zoe and Emma made it to the school history fair with their project on Jane Addams' Hull House, as a result of the judging for that event their project was chosen to move onto the city history fair. That's a pretty big deal given it's such a large population.
So I'm happy for her and Emma, but I was most pleased with the fact that I knew she had worked hard on it and really wanted us to watch her documentary. I know what it feels like to pour so much time and energy into a film project and how much you enjoy having others view your work. So I'm so happy that the work and commitment they put into their project has been rewarded.
DIY Curtain Rod Project
I'm finishing up my curtain project in the living room and dining room. Which means yet another trip to Home Depot, more hack sawing and drilling... yada, yada, yada... Not to mention more Advil for a very sore back. Ugh.
I've literally had these sheers up for so long. |

Style File
A wardrobe update emphasis on very affordable.
- skinny black jeans from Target id="mce_marker"4.99 (I wish I'd gotten a close up of the jeans bc they have a floral pattern on them that make them extra sassy).
- white top from Forever 21 - id="mce_marker"1.80 (I also bought another in hot pink - love this top)
- pink blazer from my mother - (don't you just love the lining?)
- Nine West black lil' heels
- jewelry - Zia 925 (a cute little boutique in Little Italy)
This weekend is a full one, but there aren't any games this weekend! Yay, I need a break. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and safe travels if you are on the road for spring break. I'm not quite sure right now whether I'm going to take the entire week off of blogging or just scale back for this week. Not quite sure what the week is really going to look like right now.
Take care now,
Carol
