Bootie Call

I intended to do the next post in myhexapuffseries today, on duplicate stitching, but I totally forgot to take the pictures of my duplicate stitched puffs yesterday.  In part, I wasn't feeling well, and in the other part there was mass hysteria at my house because my husband had Wrestlemania tickets and was the most excited person ever, so I was distracted.  My apologies for that!  I will try to take the pictures after work this week and get the post up soon.

Instead, today you get the final piece of my madtoshbaby showergift -- the teensy tiny baby boots!

Those are Stylish Baby Boots and they kill me with their cleverness and adorableness.  I've never made booties before, but these ones are made knitting back-and-forth and using short rows for the heel.  I really loved watching them take shape as I worked.

After making the base, you then pick up stitches for the cabled top of the boots.  I thought these were incredibly fun to make, even though they took me forever (well, a week) because I was having trouble converting the directions for picking up stitches to my left-handedness.  I needed to pick up at the beginning of the rows, instead of the ends.  I probably should have figured this out right away, but it took me lots of trial and error because I'm not used to have to do the work.  Luckily, I finished them right on time (read: I was sewing and blocking the morning of the party).

I love the outfit together!
