There might not be too many WIPs shown around here for the next few months because I'm working on a new magnum opus. What do you get when you combine 11 skeins of madelinetosh tosh merino light (so shiny! my favorite!) and a crazy lady?
You get a mitred square blanket inspired by the brilliant Double Vision and the gorgeous Hue Shift afghan. I knew I wanted to make a mired square blanket using Shelly Kang's fantastic tutorial, and I really liked the look of Double Vision and Hue Shift. Neither of those used exactly the right colors for me, though, so I went through a lot of trial and error with Paint and Excel until I came up with something that looked exactly the way I wanted it to.
At least, I think this is exactly the way I want it to look. This is my fifth version. I spent hours recoloring tiny boxes trying to figure out how best to balance the colors and I think this is it. I hope I was right.
So far so good. (As long as I can manage to keep all of the cat hair away. hahahahahaha)
