Now that it's October I can no longer ignore that fall is here. The leaves have turned shades of red, orange, and yellow. We'll soon be raking. It's time for trips to apple orchards and picking pumpkins. It's time to put up our fall wreath.
Not all that many years ago, I pretty much ignored seasonal wreaths. I knew they existed but since I didn't really have anywhere to display them inside or outside my previous homes, I didn't give them much thought. When we moved into our house we found ourselves marking the change of the seasons by the decorations on our front porch and, when I actually get my act together, our fireplace mantle. Those decorations center around the seasonal wreath. It sets the tone and color scheme.
It's easy to buy a wreath, but they are actually one of the easier decorations to make. I found five fall wreaths and a banner I would love to make and that can be made even by people, like me, who are not so very crafty. Some are best for inside while others will fare just fine hanging on your front door.
Paper Feather Fall Wreath

I loved the sneak peak of Lucy's paper feather fall wreath and was thrilled when she post a full tutorial. She used a printed card stock to make her feathers, but I have some falling-apart books that are in such bad condition they can't be donated. They'd be perfect for this project.
Fall WreathsPaper and Glitter Wreath

I know there's a whole legion of people out in the world who cannot stand glitter. I unabashedly love it. Tanya's paper and glitter fall wreath is really easy to make and if you don't want to use glitter you will still end up with a very pretty wreath. But use the glitter. We all need a little sparkle in our lives.

I, like crafters, tend to have a lot of bits and bobs lying around, and tons of paper leftover from previous projects. If you do, Manuela's scrapbook paper fall wreath will be easy for you to make. You don't need a lot of anything, it just all needs to coordinate.

You know those acorns that keep falling from trees, hitting your house, and making you grumble? Gather up a bunch to make Amy's easy acorn wreath.

Havalah's also used supplies she had around her house to make her fall sign and wreath. It's easy to make and will look like you spent way more time making it than you actually did.
Fall Banner

This last project isn't a wreath but it's every bit as festive. If you always put up a wreath, maybe you'd like to try a banner instead? I think Jamie's fall banner is probably the easiest project in this post. Once again, I'm all about the glitter but you don't have to glitter your letters.
Have you put up a fall wreath?
