With Earth Day a little over a week away, my oldest daughter and I decided we would make something colorful in celebration for Earth Day, and something to also match her bedroom decor. We decided to jump on the Ombre bandwagon (which my husband despises) and create this little throw pillow to add to her bed.
This is a super cute pillow to make, and was ready in no time at all!
First you are going to need your supplies. For this tutorial I used a 16 x 16 pillow form and some SEI tumble dye. You can find these at your local craft stores, or you can order online thru Amazon and have them delivered fast, as well as usually save a little money in the process
For this project I used the SEI colors of Sky Blue and Mint. They just screamed "Earthy" to me.
Let's get started! First you want to make sure you SHAKE WELL your spray dye. Make sure you do this every time to pick up the dye to spray.
Once you have shaken your first color, go ahead and start spraying away. You want to make sure you cover all of the white, and then slowly start spacing this out as you move up.

Then you will start where the Sky Blue is, and start spraying the mint over the very top of the sky blue in order to get a good color mix. I then just worked my way up the pillow until I was close to the top, and lightly covering with the Mint. Quick, easy, and I love the colors.
After you finish one side, flip and do your other side, and then once completely dry, pop in the dryer for 20 minutes to set and you are all done! (Wash in cold only)

All finished! Earth Day Ombre pillow, or as my husband calls it, "the half painted pillow" (not an Ombre fan). Hope you enjoyed this quick easy tutorial.
