Something happened to me when I moved into this house. I became obsessed with being crafty and creative. I mean, I’ve always been crafty and creative, but owning my own home has kicked that into overdrive. The obsession has been manifesting itself in the form of seasonal wreaths these days. I made a beautiful wreath for autumn, and, now that fall is officially over for me (Goodbye Halloween! Bring on Thanksgiving and Christmas!!), it was time to craft something more wintery for our front door.
I had the wonderful opportunity to spend the day with a dear, very pregnant friend, working on crafts and projects. She worked on a cute fall Mason jar project and I focused my energies on my winter wreath. I had already gathered a bunch of pinecones from the yard (an unexpected bonus from living under 10 acres of pine trees!), and, after picking out the right ribbon and paint color at Michaels, I crafted the above masterpiece.
The photo colors don’t do it justice. The “C” is more of a metallic coppery-red color, not the orangey color of the picture. I used the same paint color to accent the pinecones and attached little gold bells to the ribbons with hemp string. I love that it’s not a traditional wreath and takes a more organic and flowing shape. I can’t wait for Thanksgiving to be over so I can hang this gem proudly on my front door!
