I am so very excited about this month's challenge to personally make and share handmade holiday gifts!  There is something just so very special about taking the time to make something for a loved one!  My first share tonight is repurposing a vintage frame into a Coffee Table Tray.

Here is what you need to get started:

Old Frame w/ glass, big enough to hold a couple of cups of coffee ($5.00 Thrift Shop)
Modge Podge (I had some on hand)
Paint Brush or sponge if you do add a picture
Picture downloaded from the Internet or one you have on hand
Stapler
Fabric for the backing ($1,50 Hobby Lobby)
Cardboard for the backing (free)
Wood to cover the back of the frame($8.50)
Four small legs ($2.00 per bag - Lowe's)
Two Handles ($3.99 Each Hobby Lobby)

Grand Total Spent = $20.99

Remove the picture from the frame, if there is one, and remove the glass.  You may want to clean thoroughly clean the glass and remove the nails and hanging wire.  I added a picture of a deer that downloaded from the Internet.  I centered the deer picture and used Modge Podge to adhere the picture to the glass.  I let the glass dry overnight and then clean any excess dried Modge Podge from the glass.

Next I cut out a piece of cardboard paper to fit the inside of the frame.  With a staple gun to secure the fabric, I wrapped the cardboard in burlap.  You can use any type of fabric you would like to fit your taste.

I then placed the burlap covered cardboard to the back of the frame.  Mr. Handy measured and cut a piece of wood that he purchased for me at Lowe's and nailed it to the back of the frame.

Mr. Handy also added the four little legs to give it a little lift off of the coffee table.  And he added the two handles that we purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I chose these because the twine wrapped around them complimented the burlap.

And the finished product turned out fantastic!

I hope you like this tray as much as I do!  I think it looks great!  This handmade gift will be a treasure for your friends or family who do a ton of entertaining, have a love for serving coffee or breakfast in bed!!  Let me know your thoughts and if you would enjoy getting a gift like this for the holidays!

There are many more handmade gifts to come this month, so please check back to see what is in store!

Until Next Time...
