No to alarm anyone, but there are only 26 days until Christmas. This is a fair amount of time, unless you are crafting. 26 days in crafting time is like the blink of an eye. If you are like me, you have more projects lined up than you can actually complete in this amount of time.
Last year I posted my Christmas crafts as I did them and they were some of my most popular posts. This year I've decided to do the same, but I make no promises as to when exactly the posts will go up. There will be at least one a week, but I know kids get sick around this time of year and such. I will do my very best. Here are the 12 projects I hope to get completed before Christmas gets here.
Oh, and because I love Pinterest, these are all on my boards. I really, really love being able to organize all these bookmarks visually. I don't know what I would do without my beloved Pinterest. My boards are here if you'd like to take a gander.
1. Minute to Win it Bucket - My kids have seen only snippets from the show, but they cannot get enough of the fun games. I'm thinking Christmas day will be filled with silliness. I'm excited.
2. Steering Wheel Cover - Since my husband started driving the vehicle I used to drive and I yarn bombed the steering wheel, I figured it is time to replace the cover with something more manly. I'm thinking superheroes.
3. Lego Trays - Grandma is buying the boys Legos, and these trays will come in handy for Lego club. It's a win-win. Plus, Daddy-O can help me build these.
4. Name Pillow - This pillow for my darling little princess who is learning how to spell and write her name. Plus, she drags a pillow with her everywhere; comfort is her thing.
5. Star Throw - This is the biggest project on the list. I have already started it, so it should be done in time. Daddy-O has been asking for his own quilt for a long time now. I am making it big enough for him to pull over himself on the couch, so I had to upsize it quite a bit. He is 6'3" and needs a good, big throw.
6. Paper Star - Not a gift, but a gorgeous paper decoration for the holiday.
7. I Love You to the Moon and Back Sign - I hate to take an item from an Etsy shop and make it a DIY, but I cannot afford to shop on Etsy, and I have a pretty good grasp on crafting. I won't make this exactly, of course. But we say this to eachother all the time at my house, so I have to make it.
8. Tree Ornaments - I want to do this craft with the kids. Basic, yet fun, and we need some decorations this year.
9. Paint Chip Trees - Another fun tree themed decoration that I want to make with the kids. They are easy peasy and cute.
10. Tree Angels - Angels for the tree. I may even try a huge one for a tree topper.
11. Stocking DIY - Butter needs a new stocking this year, so this is on the list. I have loads of cute fabric, so I don't see the sense in buying him one.
12. Cat Toy Mouse - This is our first year having Bruce Wayne, my insane kitten who keeps me awake at night. He needs some toys of his own, and the kids are dying to make him a gift for Christmas. I think this is easy enough that they can even help sew them up.
Bonus Track: I told you I have too many projects, didn't I? Here are two more projects that didn't make the top 12, but will probably get done as well.
1. Batman Wings - Dress up for my sweet Toolman who just loves Batman.
2. Arm Knit Blanket - I want to make one of these so badly after arm knitting an infinity scarf. It's like wrapping your body in a giant blanket while you make it. It's yarn heaven. It's morphing your arms into giant knitting needles and covering yourself in sofy, fluffy goodness. I could continue, but I'll spare you.
That wraps up my 12 crafting days of Christmas. As I get through each one, I will post my method and my results. What are you making for Christmas this year? Comment below. Maybe I'll have to add to my list.
