Make your own reed diffuser

Today, instead of doing wash, I made a reed diffuser for my bathroom. It was so easy, and yet so impressive looking. You don't really need any fancy pants ingredients and there is no stove involved.

I used bamboo skewers, used for shish kabobs . I  did cut off the pointy ends and I made sure they fit nicely in the bottle. I got the cute lil bottle at Michaels yesterday for around $1.25. I probably could have also found something around my house if I looked harder.

So, I artfully assembled my sticks on the paper that wrapped up the little bottle.

The recipe is super duper easy:

1/3 cup water
1 Tablespoon rubbing alcohol (you could use vodka too!)
20 drops of essential oils of your choice
Mix to combine
Put into bottle, add trimmed reeds
and make sure you put it somewhere where no one will spill it.
You can check it every now and again and turn the reeds over, and you can also add more of the mix to it. It should last about 8-10 weeks.

I used about 10 drops each of these, I thought they would be a perfect combo for the sole bathroom in my home:

I just love lemon!!!!!

orange you glad I used orange?

And here is the finished product:

Here it is in it's new home, next to my homemade deodorant!
