Lunch boxes have come a LONG way since the days of brown paper bags and those metal lunch boxes with the latest superhero or cartoon character on them. Today's lunch boxes are more like beautifully colored and styled insulated lunch bags, some even have your initials monogramed on them. We have reusable plastic containers, BPA-free containers, bento boxes, silicone smoothie pops and the list goes on and on. School lunch is big business these days! Every now and then, my kids have a school field trip that requires a brown bag sack lunch. It's kind of a foreign concept to them! I decided to have a little fun with the brown bag lunch! There are a ton of ways you can decorate a brown bag lunch! I've shared a couple we've done in the past below.
(HELPFUL HINT: Put your child's lunch in a plastic grocery bag and then put the whole grocery bag in the brown paper bag. That way any condensation won't deteriorate the brown paper bag if it gets wet.)
At first I wondered if my kids were going to think these were "dorky" but the next time they needed a sack lunch for a school event, they specifically requested that I decorate their lunch bags! Aaaaw...sweet success! Here's the second version of lunch bags:
So cute! I just LOVE them!
Happy lunch making!
