The best part of the holiday season with kids is the build up to Christmas Day, so I decided to create a 12 days of Christmas countdown that each of my 3 kids could participate in, including my 1 year old. Each day of our countdown includes a fun activity that involves the whole family at every age, including mom and dad. To make it even more exciting for the kids, I wrapped something from each activity to be opened as a gift. Who doesn't like to open presents?
So, without further ado, here is our list of Christmas activities:
Each present includes these printed instructions:
On the 1st Day of Christmas…..
(PRESENT: Wind-up Santa Toy)
Christmas is almost here! We need to find Santa and tell him what you want for Christmas. Get dressed and get in the car because we are going to see Santa Clause!
On the 2nd Day of Christmas…..
(PRESENT: Christmas Stickers)
Santa Clause needs us to write him letters telling him what we want for Christmas and send it to the North Pole. We better hurry so the elves can start making the toys!
On the 3rd Day of Christmas…..
(PRESENT: Hershey Kisses)
Did you know that Santa Clause loves to eat cookies? We better practice making cookies before Santa comes on Christmas Eve!
On the 4th Day of Christmas…..
(PRESENT: 30 White Balloons)
Santa’s elves love snow. Their favorite thing to do is have snowball fights. Blow up these balloons, pretend they are snowballs and have a big snowball fight just like the elves!
On the 5th Day of Christmas…..
(PRESENT: Money)
It is fun to get presents on Christmas, but it is fun to give presents to others too. Today we are going to go shopping for presents to give to our family!
On the 6th Day of Christmas…..
(PRESENT: Christmas Go-Fish Game)
Christmas is a fun time to play games together as a family. Having fun and playing nice will put you on the nice list!
On the 7th Day of Christmas…..
(PRESENT: Red and Green Sprinkles)
Did you know that Santa Clause loves to eat cookies? We better practice making cookies before Santa comes on Christmas Eve!
On the 8th Day of Christmas…..
(PRESENT: Christmas Colored Paper, Stickers, and Pipe Cleaners)
The best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear AND making Christmas crafts! Today we are going to make lots of crafts to decorate our house!
On the 9th Day of Christmas…..
(PRESENT: Can of Snow Mix)
Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Today we are going to make snow!
On the 10th Day of Christmas…..
(PRESENT: Nativity Book)
Here is a special book to teach us why Christmas is so important. Make sure to read it every night before Christmas!
On the 11th Day of Christmas…..
(PRESENT: Christmas Cookie Cutters)
Christmas Eve is tomorrow! We better make special Christmas cookies to leave out for Santa Clause!
On the 12th Day of Christmas…..
(PRESENT: Blank Paper and Pens)
The most important part of Christmas is that Jesus was born. Since tomorrow we will be opening up presents, tonight we will write down and draw special presents we can give to Jesus.
Happy Holidays!
