You've Got Mail

Hi all my lovely readers!! These past few days have been gorgeous out!! All I want to do is be outside. Unfortunately,  had to do some major cleaning, and hauling out (de-junk) ugh  It was driving me insane. I figured if it was gonna be nice all week, we'd probably live outside so might as well get it clean that way I don't have to worry about it. As I was cleaning my kitchen I looked at that ugly, old mail organizer  that's been hanging in the same spot since we even moved in. I've always hated it, and we never really used it, mostly just for junk. We hang our keys on it, the dog leash, sunglasses.. I don't know why I've never taken it down, maybe it's because I knew someday I'd find some use for it ;)

As i was going through all my junk drawers (de-junking), I noticed a TON of opened and opened mail, that either A. I never received  which mean my husband or my oldest daughter didn't give to me. B- It was junk and needed to be thrown away, but ended up thrown in a drawer; which is what happens the most. C- Was mail that was suppose to be send out, but never did because of un-organization. or bills that just got thrown to the side. So, instantly that ugly, old mail organizer came to mind. We need some mail organization, up in here!!! ...yeah, okay. I'll never say that again :)

Then that creative little mind that's stuck in my head thought, hmmmm... what can I do to that to make it less ugly and outdated, and more eye appealing. The first thing came to mind was to paint it with chalk board paint, like I've seen a lot on Pinterest, and I knew I had left over chalk board paint from when I painted my daughters room with it.. I could also mod podge some cute scrap paper on it, ohh it will look so cute!! I got the left over chalk board paint out and.... yeah it was all dried up :( But I did have some white paint,  then I grabbed some scrapbook paper, mod podge, a foam brush, and scissors and worked my magic.

Here are the easy steps it takes to create this lovely mail organizer...

Gather these materials...

- Your mail organizer(s)
- paint
- mod podge
- a foam brush, or 2
- scrap book paper
-scissors

Step 1 - Simply paint it.

Step 2 - When dry, add your mod podge and your scrapbook paper where desired.

Step 3 - Add letters, stickers, vinyl, whatever you'd like for a clear understanding of what goes where!! :)

Now I have this beautiful organizer to use for mail, NO more excuses for mail being thrown in any ol' drawer!! I'll just have to be very clean to my husband, he's the hoarder, he thinks we should keep mail even if it's junk, because "You never know when you might need it"... Nope, Garbage!! :)

Thanks for reading loves,
