Hi and welcome back to my (most-neglected!) blog! It's been a while since I came here and shared some photo and scrapbooking goodness, so thanks for stopping back in and checking things out.
I have some very exciting news: I have opened an Etsy shop! I've been wanting to do this for a very long time and finally jumped right in. I'm so excited to bring you my little space for Paper + Glitter = Fine Things, also known as Larkindesign. I have been working on this shop for quite a few months now and I hope you will find some things you can't live without!
In my shop I have featured a couple of items that are intended for scrapbooking, of course. I admit freely that I have a love affair with transparent items and I tend to hoard all the transparencies and vellums that have been released over the years. So I set out to create some stenciled transparencies to offer in the shop, and here I will show you how I have used them in my own Project Life-style album.**
My favorite thing to use transparencies for is the header space as a background for the date/week information. These are the transparencies I have offered in my shop:
These transparencies measure 4x6 and are hand-stenciled gold texture paste onto heavy weight transparency material. The listing can be found here: transparencies for sale.
So for my layout I decided to use some photos we had from the Spring Folly in our hometown. (Yes, my albums are a bit behind, and that is ok!) Since many of our photos were vertical, I decided to use a page protector that uses four vertical pockets 4x6, and four horizontal pockets that are 3x4.
The doily transparency looks great with no embellishments and I decided to leave it that way because the center pockets carry the embellishments for the page. The cards I have used are from Allison Kreft, Gossamer Blue page kits, and the "hello" is Heidi Swapp. Here is another view:
I also wanted to show the arrow transparency in a layout, so I chose this Project Life layout using the Collect App's photo templates to create 3x4 photos. I love this little system of memory-keeping within an app that lets you take the photo and instantly create the date and journaling, and allows you to track the number of photos you have taken within the week, month, or year. The app can be set up to remind you every day to take a photo, as well. This app is great if you are a Project Lifer who likes to take a photo every day, or a participant in Project365!
This layout shows our week at a glance from March. I don't take photos every day, but it is easy enough to carry my phone and grab a snapshot or two here and there. And I love how clean and neat the layout is!
Note the arrow transparency and how cool it looks behind the date, in the upper left hand corner. One of my favorites, definitely! Here's another view:
For this layout I used more products from Gossamer Blue kits, some Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy stickers and papers, and some Maggie Holmes sequins and hand-written words.
Thanks again for stopping by! See you again soon!
Love,
Theresa Moxley/Larkindesign
**If you are unfamiliar, Project Life is a way of scrapbooking that was created by Becky Higgins and is now marketed under the America Crafts name. I am not affiliated with American Crafts or Becky Higgins, but love the style of scrapbooking that utilizes pocket pages to simplify scrapbooking and documenting family life.
