DIY CRAFTS - QUILT FABRIC BLOCK TOTE BAG

I want to give simple instructions, for those of you who do not know, how to DIY a quilt fabric block tote bag.

First of all, shop around on line - I did google searches, until I found totes wholesale, if you want to make them to sell.  Otherwise, get one on sale locally.  I have found several sources on line and can get them for 2.50 each.  You need a good source for fabric blocks.  Okay, check me out at www.vintagemermaidsfabricblocks.com.  I have many more designs to list there.  If you like baby mermaid fabric blocks you will love what I have listed.  I have listed a few mermaid fabric blocks and will be listing many more soon.

There are some very good no-sew glues on the market.  I go to Michael's Arts and Crafts or A.C. Moore.  If you prefer, you can use fusible webbing.  Very easy to use.

Adhere your fabric block to your tote bag using one of the above methods.  I like bling baby bling.  I use Swarovski rhinestones and they are expensive at the craft stores.  If you are going to make just a few totes, theirs will do.  But again, if you want to make totes to sell, search google and you can find them by the gross - around 140 for about $8.  That is a good price.

I usually glue lace or "rope" edging around the edges of the fabric block.  I also like to jazz up the tote straps.  Okay, easy enough.  Hope this helps those who did not have a clue how to make a quilt fabric block tote bag.
