I want glitz and glam. Little touches around the home that show that I’m a little bit business, but a whole lotta party. So one of the SIMPLEST ways to do this is to glitter something. My chandelier was the perfect victim. I’ve had it for about 3 years now and originally bought it at a garage sale for $2. Since I had already spray painted the base, the lampshades were sitting out and I naturallybusted out the Gold Florentine glitter.
To glitterize your shades, take a sponge brush and lightly coat the inside of the shades with mod podge. If you’re careful you won’t need to tape any of the edges off, just “paint” carefully. Focus on one-fourth of each shade at a time, pour the glitter on the shades, tapped any extra off, and behold. The sparkle and beauty when I turn on my lights cannot be adequately captured in a picture....I really tried.
But believe me, they are amazing. I’ve had so many compliments since updating this old fixture, and it makes folding laundry underneath it just a bit better.
