Christmas is approaching fast and it’s time to start decorating our house. In today’s article, I will share few DIY tips or crafts for Christmas decorations. This idea is really simple and easy to make and can be done easily on one lazy afternoon. I love indoor plants, so what I have decided to make is a beautiful terrarium.

Its snowy outside and you can hardly see any greenery outside your house. We will definitely have a beautiful decorated Christmas tree which is green, colorful and glittery but to liven up any corner of your house you can have a beautiful plant terrarium. It could be of cactus or even of succulent plants.  To make this you need –

  • Small pebbles or rocks
  • Charcoal layer (activated charcoal)
  • Moss layer
  • Soil and sand mixture
  • Deep glass dish or any spare dish you’ve at home
  • Different types of cactus and succulent plants
  • Colorful pebbles (pebbles that you use for fish tank)
  • Small toys or creatures (optional)

Method –

  1. First of all put some rocks and uneven pebbles at the bottom of the dish that you are using. I am using a glass dish, you can also use metal dish or terracotta dish if you like.
  2. Now on this put a layer of activated charcoal, this is important to absorb any kind of unwanted moisture. Next put a layer of moss.
  3. Now start placing your plants according to the level you like and put sand and soil mixture accordingly. Make sure you place your plants properly and press sand and soil in a way so that plants don’t fall from there place. Once you are happy with the arrangement, put a layer of colorful stones and toys or figures of your choice to make it look pretty.

That’s it; Simple isn’t it? Put some candles across this terrarium and some dollies or figurines or pine cone etc. you can also put some indoor lights nearby. Use your imagination and creativity to make each corner look beautiful and lively. Give some craft work to your kids too. They would love to do it with you and they will learn something too.

You can find amazing tips and tricks online too and some of them are really easy and simple to make. What I suggest is that first plan what all you need and from where you want to start, make some Christmas Ornament wreath, beautiful lights and paper ball chandelier, table top Christmas trees, candle stands etc. I hope you like this craft and in fact you can also give this as a gift to some special. Have Fun! Cactus and succulent terrarium
