Next Saturday September 27th, MaRS and OCAD are hosting the Etsy Made in Canada Toronto Pop Up Market. Made in Canada Day is a celebration of all things handmade and vintage, and brings together local Etsy sellers and communities. Toronto finally joins 21 other locations across Canada for the first ever Etsy Made in Canada events. The purpose is to take the online marketplace offline, by creating a community for local sellers to connect with each other in person.
Etsy is an online marketplace where shoppers can browse more than 20 million creative items. It’s the number one place to sell creative vintage and handmade DIY products, and for people to buy unique items. MaRS Discovery District will feature126 Etsy sellers from Toronto alone, and OCAD University will feature another 50 sellers, showcasing their artsy, handmade goods.
From 10am to 5pm, Etsy Made in Canada will be hosted at OCAD University’s The Great Hall (100 McCaul St. , 2nd floor), and The MaRS marketplace (101 College St) will be open from 10am to 4pm. At both pop-ups, you will be able to shop local favourites and connect with your fave Etsy sellers in person, and bond with other Etsy fans the whole day!

For those of you who cannot visit the Made in Canada pop-up marketplace on September 27, you can shop online as of today, where all Etsy items available in live marketplaces Canada wide can also be found on a dedicated landing page seen here: Etsy.com/madeincanada.
Made in Canada is the newest addition to the Etsy’s ongoing offline initiatives, like the recent Etsy Road Trip, which aims to connect sellers to their community of fellow makers and local shoppers, and will possibly even foster creative collaborations. With so many of us immersed in the world of DIY projects and need creative outlets, we are loving the alternative shopping experience that Etsy facilitates.
