If you follow me you are familiar with the fact that I love to modify my Mantle wreath, with a few quick changes of deco mesh and maybe an ornament or two I can go from season to season or holiday to holiday. I am getting so adept at switching the look of the wreath that now I do not even need to take it off the fireplace.
I have in the past gone from Thanksgiving, to Halloween, to Christmas, to St Paddy's to Easter and many other holidays and seasons, Today another modification for St Patricks Day.
Remove all Christmas accents from wreath
add some Gold Decomesh ribbon
follow with some shamrock green deco mesh ribbon
have your assistant pass you the accent pieces
allow ample breaks or they may strike ( LOL)
add a selection of season accents, I choose green carnations, glitter leaves, some glitter shamrocks and a few little leprechauns.
accents pieces can be picked up at Michael s or dollar stores. I usually pick up my decomesh at Michael s.
There is no correct way to apply the ribbon, some people tie the pieces, me I use the branches to anchor the ribbon. I find it is better to follow a slight random pattern and you do not need to be symmetrical. I love anchoring a selection of seasonal accents on the bottom of the wreath but you can also add them all around the frame. The wreath has to feel like you and you have to like the look. I am usually far to critical so I find after I am done it is best to leave the room and come back and look at what I have created.
Do you decorate for St Patricks Day?
